About The House Boat

Kariba its wildlife and safari experience are second to none and living on the Golden Mariner, a spacious recently renovatedMonohull Houseboat, where views are ever changing and wildlife is about 2-3 metres away from your bedroom window is a travel experience found nowhere else in the continent and one in which you will thoroughly enjoy your cruising holiday.

Crew: Captain, Chef and Captain’s Assistant

Tender Boats: 2- One motorised pontoon takes 8-12 passengers & one 18ft Calypso with 2 90 H.P outboard motors

Moored: Andora Harbour

Boarding Time: 12 noon

Disembarking Time:10am

Accommodation and Facilities include:

  • 4 luxury cabins, each sleeping 2 passengers, fitted with mosquito nets and “mist fans/ air conditions”. More guests are provided for and can sleep comfortably in the lounge and on the top deck right under the breath taking expanse of stars in the night skies.
  • 2 separate toilets, bath and shower with steaming hot water.
  • Fully fitted modern kitchen, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and cleaning materials supplied.
  • The spacious lounge area is a delight for entertaining, boasting large windows giving exquisite views of the lake; a bar where guests can serve themselves or ask the crew to ‘’man’’ the bar.
  • The spacious upper deck is the perfect area to relax and there are additional deck areas facilitating privacy. Also located on the top deck is a splash pool for guests to cool off.
  • Braai facilities for guests to enjoy that chargrilled steak with ice cold beer.
  • 2 Tender boats for game viewing and fishing(one motorised pontoon takes 8-12 passengers and one 18ft Calypso with 2 90 H.P outboard motors)

  • Fuel, outboard oil(the main vessel, tender boats and generator will be full before departure, clients to be shown gauge and on completion of the charter and return to harbour vessel to be refuelled. Clients to settle fuel usage in cash).

  • Fishing equipment and bait
  • Swimming towels
  • Crew gratuities
  • National Parks lake usage and fishing fees
  • Vehicle parking fees

Self-Catering

If you would like your own catering, there is a chef on board to prepare all your meals for you, however please note that you will need to provide your own condiments including salt, pepper etc

We are more than happy to provide a list of recommended caters. Meal costsare between $35 to $50 per day per person.
